Teachers have a special place in our hearts around here! While what they really deserve is more respect and bigger paychecks, we can’t control that. What we can do is pixie dust them with little reminders throughout the year of just how appreciated they are. Full honesty moment….most years Teacher Appreciation week sneaks up on me or gets missed all together. In that case, you can take any of these ideas and repurpose them for end of year gifts. There is never a right or wrong time to appreciate someone!
I strongly believe that it doesn’t take something big, expensive, or fancy to say thank you. I like to focus on things that are affordable, useful, and purposeful. My favorite place to start Bullseye’s Playground (aka Target‘s Dollar Spot). The key to this is to BUY IT WHEN YOU SEE IT!! So often this space gets restocked with the cutest of seasonal things only to be showcased online before selling out quickly. I unapologetically buy things I like in bulk when I see them. With prices ranging between $1 and $5, why wouldn’t you?! I keep a bin of items I have bought from here strictly to use for teacher, classmate, and other small gifts.
I also can’t stress enough what a difference packaging makes. Canva is your best friend!! Canva’s Professional Account is worth every bit of the $12 a month and more. It provides you access to additional templates and elements that can really help you theme and personalize your tags and packaging. Some Hobby Lobby ribbon (bought when it is half off of course!!) and a Canva tag printed on your home computer is all you need. For teacher gifts, I like to personalize further with a little flag attached to a pencil or ruler when possible.
Now that I have a kiddo in Intermediate School, he sees seven teachers in a day. I needed an option that was cute, affordable, and easy for him to be able to distribute himself. Once again, Target saved the day! These waterproof phone cases were $1 in the Dollar Spot. I added the sunscreen at $2.49 each, along with one of the eos lip balms from their fruity 4-pack. The lip balm came out to another $2.50 each. If you only have a few teachers to gift or just want to add something, consider a beach towel or gift card. I was able to get these towels two for $10 at Target.
I was recently walking through the card section at Homegoods [truthfully, my favorite section] and stumbled across these adorable teacher themed Graphique spiral notebooks. Graphique notebooks can also be ordered on Amazon here. I added one of these fun multi-colored pens I had left over from my 40th birthday party. Every schoolgirl from the 90’s loves these pens….its facts! 🙂 You can pick up a 24 pack of them for $12 on Amazon. Such a great add-on to keep around for gifts. It would also be easy to add a Target or Amazon gift card to the tag.
The end of year is a crazy time for everyone! Performances, sports, standardized testing, try-outs, signing up for summer camps, and everything in between. That is why I love this next concept!! Dinner and Dishes on Us. Pick up a cute set of paper plates and napkins, pair with a restaurant gift card, and add a tag. This would be a great gift any time of the year with themed paper goods. I picked up this set from Target.
